I really meant Dan by my phrase on my post that even the very talented designers redesign their website and jeeez I forgot to add a link :)

You're right about everything you told, I myself actually planned on working with px than converting everything to em. This is IMHO easier than working with ems directly (especially for testing and debugging)

And yes, I'd say that “Wide is the new drop shadow and rounded corners too!" ;-)

Thanks for the compliments Juanma and good luck with your blog as well.

Yes, Dan is kind of a reference for all of us... you can really tell when he laid his hands on something.

The em-sized image trick is a neat one, especially if you rely on images as part of the site layout. Another cool side of the coin is to use this trick for printing images in higher resolution, like logos, etc.

Hi dude, thanks for stopping by today. As for Dan's work, he is SUPER CRAZY. I'm not sure if you noticed something on his layout:

1) Try to resize the text using your keyboard (or the menu on your browser)
2) See how everything gets bigger?

Ok so far so good... but how bout... THE PHOTOS ON THE MAIN COLUMN???

So apparently he uses a big 'ol photo and while keeping the size of the img on ems, you can get a bigger photo without compromising on the quality.

IN-SA-NE.

Take care and good luck with your blog.
